It turned out I had a few references to an old path in the files in the directory Data\traveler\cfg (We put the domino data directory on a different disk).
These files were probably not updated after the new installation of Traveler.
So, after editing the files with notepad, updating all files with the new location and restarting the traveller, synchronization worked.
